Arthur Sarkissian was born in 1937 in Tabriz. He migrated to Tehran and studied painting under Avak Hayrapetian’s supervision. After training, Sarkissian became a collaborator with Hayrapetian and settled on the upper floor of his gallery.
Arthur created many oil and watercolor paintings that were bought by tourists in Tehran. In addition to tourists, some government and private offices also purchased Sarkissian’s works, and some of his works can still be seen on the walls of Tehran offices. He immigrated to the United States of America permanently from Iran in 1979.
