Fereydoun Omidi is an art teacher and one of the calligraphers. Omidi, after various experiences in pictorial and abstract painting, has recently turned to a kind of "Siyah Mashq." He introduces another type of calligraphy in his rhythmic and sometimes colorful compositions created by repeating and overlapping one or more letters.
He began his artistic studies at the Islamic Azad University and received his bachelor's degree in painting from this university. To continue his education, he went to the University of Arts (Faculty of Decorative Arts) and completed a bachelor's degree in painting in 1998. After that, he taught at Azad University and later became a member of the faculty of this university. After participating in several group shows in this period, in 2000, he established his first solo exhibition in Barg Gallery. Fereydoun Omidi joined the +30 group in 2000 with artists such as Rozita Sharafoujahan, Behnam Kamrani, Ahmad Vakili, Karim Nasr, Mehrdad Mohebbali, Ahmad Morshedlou, etc .; A group of artists with different artistic tendencies and styles gathered to present their artworks and held several exhibitions in Iran, Japan, Italy, France, and Armenia. The group tried to use new media to communicate with the audience and ended its work in the mid-2001s. Omidi participated in the Venice Biennale in 2003 with video art. And his first group exhibition the following year, in the International City of Arts, was held in Paris.
Fereydoun Omidi's first appearance in the auctions dates back to May 2009 at the Christie's auction house. By August 2021, his artworks had appeared in 18 domestic and foreign auctions. And 72% of his artworks had been sold at international auctions. His most expensive work until 2021 at Christie's for $ 12,153 was hammered on November 9, 2010.
