Habib Tohidi was born in 1951 in Tabriz. He studied BA and MA of painting continuously at Memar Sinan University, Turkey (1983-1975). He has a first degree doctorate in arts from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
Habib Tohidi held his first solo exhibition in 1994 and has participated in more than 150 group exhibitions inside and outside Iran. Tohidi is a member of the faculty of Islamic Azad University, an honorary member of the Iranian Painters Association, and an honorary member of the Contemporary Visual Arts Development Institute. He was the winner of the Islamic Art World Biennale in 2006.
In terms of structure, Tohidi's source of inspiration is Iran's miniatures and rugs, and he uses human, plant, and animal figures in his works. Habib Tohidi's art are kept in several collections, including the treasury of Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the Pasargad Bank Museum, Palestine Museum, Imam Ali Museum and Visual Arts Development Center. In addition to painting, this artist has also translated some art books.
