Hamidreza Andarz was born in Tehran in 1970 and embarked on his academic journey at the Tehran Academy of Fine Arts, culminating in his graduation from Tehran Azad University in 1997.
In 2009, Andarz held his inaugural solo exhibition at Naar Gallery in Tehran, marking a significant milestone in his artistic career. He has since collaborated with prestigious galleries such as Shirin and Choom, showcasing his evolving artistic vision. Notably, Andarz participated in the second biennale of contemporary Iranian painting organized by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts. His artistic achievements have been captured in the book "Selections of Hamidreza Andarz's Works," published by “Khat va Tarh” Publications.
Art researcher Helia Darabi provides insight into Andarz's artistic philosophy, describing his paintings as conduits of tranquility that invite viewers into profound moments of contemplation. Darabi elaborates on Andarz's silent artistry, characterized by serene compositions and flat expanses that evoke a sense of quietude. She highlights his mastery of color fusion and the subtle absence of delineation, creating a meditative atmosphere. Within Andarz's works, whether depicting fruits, fish, or whales in oceanic depths, Darabi discerns a profound silence that transcends temporal boundaries, offering viewers a timeless journey through meticulously crafted canvases.
Andarz's artistry thus resonates as a contemplative exploration—an eloquent expression of silence and serenity, where each painting becomes a vessel drifting through moments suspended in time.
