Iraj Shafei, designer and painter, was born in 1961. He started his career in 1977 and started learning painting in Aydin Aghdashloo's private classes from 1985. This artist opened his own studio in 1988 and started teaching painting since then.

Shafei's first solo exhibition was held in Seyhoun Gallery in 1986. This artist-painter has held numerous individual and group exhibitions in Iran and other countries.

The first appearance of Iraj Shafeie in auctions dates back to the Tehran auction in 2023.

This artist explains his artistic activity this way: “For thirty years, I spent all the years of my artistic life learning and teaching. In these years, I learned to be myself, to stay away from repetition, not to inculcate my thoughts and opinions to my students, to teach a correct understanding of the art of painting, not to criticize and keep away from everyday artistic controversies. Today, it is not the work of art that is important, but the method, and approach of art is validated. Art is nothing but inspiration, axioms, and strange behaviors.”
