Payam Mofidi was born in 1980 in Tehran, Iran. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Azad University, Tehran, in 2005. Pursuing further studies in France, he graduated with honors in Animation from l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD) in Paris in 2009.
Throughout his artistic career, Mofidi has received several accolades. Notably, he was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Rythmetic International Animation Festival in 2010. Additionally, he won the "Magic of Persia Contemporary Art Prize" in 2012 and the "Vista Contemporary Art Prize" in 2018.
Mofidi's inaugural exhibition experience occurred in 2001 with a group show at Azad Art Gallery, Tehran. Eleven years later, in 2012, Assar Art Gallery in Tehran hosted his first solo exhibition, titled "Destroyed Memories." Over the years, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, with his works showcased in cities including Montreal, Bangkok, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Paris, Sydney, and Amsterdam.
In addition to his work in visual arts, Mofidi has created several short animations, including "Poéticide" (2009) and "Subito" (2006).
