Ramin Shirdel, architect and sculptor, was born in 1981 in Tehran. He has a bachelor's degree (2005) and a master's degree (2008) in architecture from Tehran University of Art. The sculptures and paintings of Shirdel were shown at the Ayam Galleries auction for the first time in 2011. His first presence in the Tehran auction dates back to 2016.
Shirdel has been nominated and selected for domestic and international awards in the fields of architecture and design. In 2018 he was a commissioned artist for the Qatar National Library. Shirdel has participated in Art Miami and Artstage Singapore and the first appearance of the artist in biennials, goes back to the sixth sculpture biennial in Niavaran cultural center in 2011.
Shirdel's artworks are a combination of calligraphy, volume and space. His sculptures and relief paintings have a fluid state, they blur the media boundaries and are the combination of architecture, sculpture, painting and poetry.
The main elements of Ramin Shirdel works are Persian words; The conventional usage of words in calligraphy is decorative, but the artist made the words into a sculptural language. Volumes and three-dimensional panels of Shirdel are kept in private and public collections.
