Reza Khodadadi, painter, sculptor, and art teacher, was born in Ardabil. His interest in art was formed during his childhood; he has been involved in painting and sculpting since then. In 1990, after finishing high school, he entered the Tehran University of Art and left for the capital. After receiving a bachelor's degree in painting, he continued his graduate studies at the same university in animation and graduated in 1994. During the same student period, with the invitation of his professors, he started teaching art and studied at the University of Arts and Soura University. In parallel with these activities, Khodadadi continued his studies and received his doctorate in art research focusing on urban arts and the art of public arenas. A few years later, he became a member of the Faculty of Art University and has been teaching at this university until today. Khodadadi has conducted numerous research activities and lectures in the field of his specialized education, i.e., public arts and strategic planning of the arts. "Mural painting techniques" and several issues of urban beautification rules and regulations are among his works in this direction. In addition, Khodadadi has organized numerous group and solo exhibitions inside and outside the country.
He uses different methods in his works of art. Most of his paintings and sculptures are abstract or semi-abstract. But he has had different experiences in sculpture and created realistic portraits of literary celebrities. God-given abstract paintings are weaves of lines. Throwing and powerful lines intertwine with their different sensual qualities and create a general beat that is sometimes very sharp and violent and sometimes tender and flexible, depending on each painting. In some paintings, these lines take on a figurative state and evoke natural features such as grass stalks in the viewer's mind. Material color and color qualities also play a crucial role in Goddadi's play with these beats. Contrast and color harmony of the lines, in addition to creating dimension and layered character, create various visual fluctuations.
The first appearance of Reza Khodadadi's works in auctions was a semi-abstract painting from the "Surprises" collection in December 2016 and Tehran auction. Until 2021, his works have appeared twice in domestic auctions, and 100% of his works have been sold.
