Reza Rinei was born in 1968 in Tehran. He has a Ph.D. in art from Iran Art Evaluation Council. He is also a calligraphy master at Iran Calligraphers Association.
Rinei was interested in calligraphy and painting since childhood and attended the classes of Iran Calligraphers Association as a teenager and finally received an honors degree: "Momtaaz", in 2018. A year later, he officially started teaching in this association. Rinei is a graduate of painting majoring in Iranian arts and painting from Tehran University of Arts. His works have been exhibited in art galleries such as Seyhoun, vali and Reza Abbasi Museum. He is one of the first Iranian artists to be exhibited in Dubai in the 90s. He has also participated in foreign exhibitions in Tajikistan, England and Morocco.
Reza Rinei has said about combining the calligraphy experiences he had, with his academic experiences at the Art University: "It is a strange thing to distance yourself from the classical world, to get used to form, color and to work freely and fluently in a field that is not similar to traditional learning. Due to my experience in the field of visual arts, I was prepared to enter and experience the art of calligraphy. In fact, in my works, it was a different kind of execution and a different point of view regarding the combination of calligraphy and painting in size and material, and in this way I was inspired by the painting of the Isfahan and Safavid schools. I was pursuing my target by focusing on color, form and figures, as well as calligraphy. Later, I slowly simplified the drawing of painting figures in the panels, reduced the details of the designs and used the brush movements more freely and in the form of painting sketches. This type of performance has a different and modern form compared to the traditional style of this art. On the other hand, I would like the audience to become familiar with these changes in the paintings over time and, together with the artist, reach a contemporary understanding of classical and traditional art."
