Roghayyeh Najdi, a contemporary Iranian painter, was born in 1982 in Tabriz. She pursued her art education in her hometown and later continued her studies at the Antwerp University of Arts in Belgium. Najdi held her debut solo exhibition in 2011 at Art Four Gallery in Istanbul, marking her introduction to international audiences. Since then, she has exhibited extensively in cities such as Antwerp, Brussels, Queensland, Rotterdam, Dubai, Tehran, and Tabriz.
Najdi's paintings draw inspiration from Persian carpet colors, forms, and the narrative imagery found in Tabrizi literature. Employing a surrealistic approach with a figurative style, she juxtaposes natural elements with human figures, creating evocative yet unfamiliar spaces in her works.
In 2022, in collaboration with Bavan Gallery and Nasser Bakhshi Archive Museum, Roghayyeh Najdi produced a limited-edition series of boxes. Each box contains one original piece and 14 editioned works, all personally signed by the artist, showcasing Najdi's commitment to her art and her connection with her audience. Her artistic journey reflects a deep engagement with cultural motifs and a profound exploration of visual storytelling.
