Sedaghat Jabari was born on July 22end, 1961 in the north of Ardabil (Kalkhuran village). He is one of the diligent and hardworking artists who has traveled his path step by step. Through years of study in the field of calligraphy, graphics and visual arts, with deep and correct knowledge, he has created diverse and different and at the same time modern works. The valuable experiences that Sedaghat Jabari gained during the educational stages at the calligraphers' association and the faculty of fine arts (until obtaining a doctorate degree) have made this artist a national and international figure.
Sedaghat Jabari learned calligraphy in the presence of Abdollah Foradi in the Iranian Calligraphers' Association in 1980. He started his graphic studies in the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1983 and during this period benefited from the presence of professors such as Morteza Momayez, Mohammad Ehsai, Jalal Shabahangi, Ruyin Pakbaz, Sadegh Bariraniand other great professors in fine arts. He graduated from Tarbiat Modares University in 1988 with a master's degree in graphics and in 2007 from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University with a doctorate in art research. Since 1984, at the same time as his studies, with the approval and recommendation of his professors, he started teaching students in fine arts and in other art faculties. Since that year, Jabari has been teaching graphic design students and is currently a professor at the Faculty of Arts. Jabari's love and passion for education is interesting. His relationship with his students is romantic, while being serious, friendly and kind, and as he speaks frankly, he puts his pen on the pages of students' work with ease and teaches.
Sadaqat Jabari is one of eight Iranians in the list of 1000 best artists of the 21st century, and from 2008 to 2010, he was named as the 500 best artists in the world in the annual report of Art Price and Fiak. In 2006, his calligraphy work won the grand prize and gold medal of the 12th Bangladesh International Biennale, and in 2009, he participated in the 53rd Venice International Biennale as one of the selected Iranian artists. His calligraphy works have been presented in various international auctions such as Christie's, Sotheby's, Bonham's and Tehran auction. In 2007, one of his line paintings won a record sale at Christie's auction. Also, many works of calligraphy and calligraphic works of Sedaghat Jabari are kept in museums and private collections inside and outside the country.
Sedaghat Jabari's works have been presented in more than 150 exhibitions; Among these, we can mention the exhibition at the Ronald Reagan Center in America in 2015, the exhibition at the Richard Heisman Museum of Modern Art in Germany in 2011, the exhibition at the University of Cambridge, the Center for Islamic Studies, England in 2000 and the exhibition at the Kunstner Host complex in Denmark in 2011. Sedaghat Jabari's works have been exhibited in different countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Germany, America and England.
Jabari's visual vision was not only limited to traditional calligraphy; Due to his experience in various fields such as graphics and music, he is trying to focus his horizons in order to create new, creative and timely works. His black exercises are a pleasant narrative of our traditional calligraphy, which delights its audience with creative compositions, and many enthusiasts are fascinated to look at them. Sedaghat Jabari's high speed of action and strong hand in calligraphy are among the features of this artist that are not hidden from many of his relatives and fans.
