Shirin Ettehadieh was born in 1946 in Tehran. She received her diploma in interior architecture from London in 1973, and in 1980, she completed her studies in the history of design at the Louvre School in Paris.
After finishing her studies in France, Shirin Ettehadieh returned to Iran and collaborated with the Niavaran Cultural Center. She then decided to open a bookstore, and in 1980, she established "Ketab e Azad" bookstore.
In 1992, she held her first solo exhibition at Golestan Gallery. Since then, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally, in countries such as France and Lebanon.
Shirin Ettehadieh’s works balance between figurative and abstract styles. In some pieces, the figures are recognizable, while in others, they verge on abstraction. Behnam Kamrani, an artist and art teacher, wrote in a statement for Shirin Ettehadieh’s exhibition at Vista Gallery: "Shirin Ettehadieh has used the themes of plants and flowers throughout different periods of her paintings. As much as she is an instinctive and passionate painter, she also skillfully masters new compositions and color theory."
