I like to make paintings that are intimate, beautiful and enjoyable to see; paintings of green spaces, lovers and peaceful worlds. Despite these attempts, I am continually trying to control shapes and forms from slipping into another abyss. There is a constant erosive struggle between us to control and liberate.
Somehow, I think all things share this desire for fluidity and freedom, be it space, time, history, words or even my own memory; they are all drawn to an eternal turbulence between beauty and the present situation.
