Abbas Kiarostami (*1940 in Tehran) is considered one of the most important contemporary filmmakers, whose work has already received numerous awards worldwide and has been shown in important museums. The series of exhibitions that started in Bochum is now presenting his photographs from the Snow White, Roads and Rain and Wind work groups together with some current video works in a first solo presentation in the German-speaking region. Using film and photography's own means, Kiarostami questions the possibilities and modalities of seeing, in particular the relationship to reality that takes place in the process of seeing.
