O Gallery presents “Still Life”, a collection of installations and drawings by Aisa Rashid (b. 1985 Tehran). 

Valiasr Street in Tehran is famous for its length and tall plane trees. In 1939, sixty thousand plane trees were planted on both sides of Valiasr Street from which only eight thousand have remained today. The story of Valiasr trees is similar to the history of Tehran: a city that spreads in size and shrinks in nature. 

In recent years, for many of us, nature has become the images we see on the screen of our laptops or mobile phones; images that we don’t even know the name of their photographers at times. Where the photographer decides to close her frame, nature ends for us and the photograph never tells the whole truth. In the collection on display, the artist has presented a personal impression of the photos taken by others in the form of a series of installations and drawings.
