Behrouz Zindashti is a searcher and experimental artist who has been searching for years to find a way to paint with calligraphy and to combine the mysterious world of scripts and numbers with pictorial statements and painting compositions. In the current collection, Zindashti has cleverly crossed the familiar path of his previous works and tried to find a new perspective in his way of thinking in the reinterpretation of «one word».
The artist›s achievement in this exhibition is an evolved form of the eastern aesthetic understanding of the repetition of a letter in the fluid and dynamic space of the canvas, with a limited color palette, a symbolic and multifaceted aspect; As formal thinking has given its place to improvisation and the formal element is the Persian letter «Alef», which in different ways, around Several axes are repeated in a mirror-like manner at the top and bottom of the panels. The element of repetition, which is an inherent feature in Iranian classical «siah_mashg» and an efficient element in modernist calligraphy_painting, now plays a different role in the filled and empty spaces of the paintings in this exhibition.
The repetition of only one letter in the works of this collection has led to emphasizing a new conceptual aspect of the figure of «Alef» and has also given it a post-modern form and meaning. The result of the work is a spectacular narrative of refining and removing frequent elements of letters and numbers in the artist›s previous painting and a minimalist understanding of space and avoiding form complications, which promises a new era in Behrouz Zindashti's artistic career.
