Edmond Barseghian was born in an authentic Armenian family in 1922 in Tehran and became deaf due to an unknown disease.
Edmond's father was in charge of the treasury of Jordan American College in Tehran, so he had a good financial situation. However, due to the lack of a special education system for the deaf in Iran, Edmond was deprived of literacy until he was 10 years old.
Finally, in 1933, Edmond's family first saw Jabbar Baghtcheban's announcement in the information newspaper and sent Edmond Barseghian there; The following year, he went to St. Jacob's School for the Deaf in Paris, but eventually returned to Iran and after finishing elementary school, he pursued painting. A few years later, Edmond Barseghian established Edmond's painting atelier near Naderi Hotel, Tehran. He launched this atelier in partnership with an Armenian friend who was hearing.
After that, Edmond traveled to Europe many times to complete his artistic knowledge and visited painting museums, especially the Louvre Museum in Paris. He was very interested in nature and beautiful landscapes and considered everything to be a manifestation of divine majesty; In his paintings, he often represents the nature of different parts of Iran. Edmond Barseghian immigrated to Canada with his brother in 1983.
