Siamak Filizadeh was born in 1970 in Tehran. After receiving an art diploma, he graduated from the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Tehran Islamic Azad University in the field of graphics.
In 1992, he won the first prize for poster design at Tehran Graduates Festival. Filizadeh has held many group and solo exhibitions inside and outside of Iran, one of his most prominent exhibitions was a graphic-painting solo exhibition titled "Return of Rostam 2" in Aaran Gallery in 2008; This exhibition was shown in the LAKMA Museum in Los Angeles in 2013 and was able to enter the permanent collection of this museum. Countries such as Japan, Switzerland, and America have hosted the works of Siamak Filizadeh. Also, some of Filizadeh's artworks are in the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
Filizadeh has worked in various fields such as designing, advertising, branding, and making movie titles. He has also received several awards for poster design and book cover design; But after the "Return of Rostam 2" exhibition, he gave up graphic work and focused on visual arts.
Filizadeh's late works are created with a collage-like approach and have their own narrative. In the "Underground" collection, by combining photography and graphics, he has been able to present a historical narrative of Iran's contemporary history. Most of the works of this collection are created with the central figure of the king. Amirhajebi has written in Shargh newspaper about the works of this exhibition: "These works are a representation of a king who has been killed in an assassination plot every 50 years and returns again; An example and allegory of all the tyrants of history, of course, without the advice and instructions common in historians. The works fluctuate between stage photography and digital art and invite the audience to this fluctuation and ambiguity. Filizadeh's extreme precision and obsession have turned each painting into a strange and mysterious land. All the details cannot be taken into account as they are too many. But in the general view, his works are complete and perfect; Detailed compositions, colors that imply concepts, and faces that rely on both history and contemporary human morphology.
Filizadeh's exhibition: "There is no such thing as a big story" at Iranshahr Gallery, continues the previous path; But by applying more details and using a complete team of photography, make-up, and special effects. It may take a few hours to see the full details of the works of this collection. The use of perspective and composition similar to Iranian painting is another prominent feature of this collection.
