My Inherited Home
Reza Hedayat's mental and visual sources originate from Persian and Kurdish literature, his childhood memories and stories he has heard. Although his paintings are reminiscent of legends, they do not refer to present/past and nor to myths and legends. They come through his world of the imaginary beings. Hedayat does not speak of legends, he creates them in his simple, complex way; as a habit, his mind puts unexpected things together. The result is not surreal, but rather magical.
