Manoucher Yektai: Exploring the Market of 2023's Best-Selling Iranian Artist

21 May 2024
Manoucher Yektai, an esteemed Iranian poet and artist, made his entry into the secondary market in 2006 with two unique pieces featured at the Dreweatts and Bloomsbury auction in Berkshire, England. Up until 2013, Yektai's market saw limited growth, mainly due to the scarcity of his works and their presence in lesser-known auctions. The launch of the Tehran Auction in 2011 marked a turning point. As Yektai's paintings began to be featured, his market experienced significant growth, peaking in 2016.
From 2016 to 2022, the market for Yektai's works saw a decline in total auction sales. Yet, 2023 brought a remarkable resurgence, with sales nearing the peak levels of 2016. This growth propelled Yektai to become the best-selling Iranian artist of the year. In our latest blog post, the Artchart team delves into the market trends of Manoucher Yektai's unique works over the years, with a special focus on the remarkable developments in 2023.
