Afshin Bakhtiar, a graduate in Industrial Electrical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and a recipient of the First-Class Artistic Medal from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, is one of Iran’s most distinguished photographers.
For nearly 50 years, Bakhtiar has been actively engaged in photography, capturing the essence of nature, architecture, cultural heritage, historical monuments, as well as social, industrial, and aerial themes. His extensive work has resulted in the publication of over 80 books on Iranian studies. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Iranian Veterans Artists Institute.
Bakhtiar's professional portfolio includes collaborations with the Iranian documentary television program *Iran* as an aerial photographer in more than 80 cities across the country. He has also worked with the Iranian Research and Educational Planning Organization, contributing to school textbooks, and with the Cultural Heritage Organization of Iran and various provinces as an architectural photographer. Furthermore, Bakhtiar has collaborated with the World Heritage Organization, including photographing the Jameh Mosque of Isfahan, and with the Cultural Heritage Organization of Isfahan in documenting and registering globally recognized sites. He has also served as a judge in over 50 photography competitions and festivals both within Iran and internationally.
Afshin Bakhtiar has held numerous exhibitions focusing on nature, architecture, and daily life in Iran, as well as in several other countries, including the United Kingdom, Qatar, Syria, Lebanon, Austria, Germany, Canada, and Sweden.
