Ahmadreza Ahmadi was born in 1940 in Kerman. He immigrated to Tehran with his family when he was seven years old and attended high school in Dar Ul-Funun. In 1970, he started working at the center for the intellectual development of children and teenagers in the music department and remained in the center until 1994, that is, until his retirement.
Ahmadreza Ahmadi is known mostly for his poems and for defining the new wave poetry style in Iran. This wave, which originated from poetry, widely influenced other fields such as theater, cinema and painting.
Ahmadi started painting after suffering from a period of depression and in order to escape from it. He held his first painting exhibition in 2018 at Kama Gallery with the title "A thousand acacias were nothing in your eyes". This exhibition included the artist's watercolor paintings. After the good reception of this exhibition by the audience, painting became a daily activity for Ahmadreza Ahmadi. After this show, he participated in several other group shows and collaborated with galleries such as Afrend and Artibition.
