Amir Mehdi Zahedi, a painter and sculptor, was born in 1987. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Azad University of Qazvin. Zahedi completed a graphic design course at the School of Graphic Design and learned drawing and sculpture under the tutelage of Master Rafi Davtian.
Zahedi's creations include paintings, collages, and sculptures, reflecting his experiences in architecture and graphic design. He simplifies various elements and shapes, depicting faces with different emotions. This combination and simplification, along with flat and bold colors, evoke a sense of playful innocence reminiscent of children's games, yet in a more mature context. Zahedi's first solo exhibition was held at e1 Gallery in 2022. His works have also been showcased in group exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
Narges Marandi has written about Zahedi's works: "In Zahedi's works, the emphasis on the concept of play and the rigidity of elements creates a dynamic between the conventional adult world and the imaginary world of childhood. Although Zahedi navigates between these two narratives, he seems to chart his own path. It appears that he began his journey of exploration and discovery from childhood, progressing through experimenting with forms and different media, and using unconventional materials. This approach allows him to resist conforming to established norms."
