Fereshteh Setayesh was born in 1959. In 1995, she received a bachelor's degree in German language translation from Islamic Azad University. She entered the world of painting in 1981 and studied painting with Aydin Aghdashloo and Parvaneh Etemadi.

After setting up her first and second solo exhibitions at Seyhoon Gallery (1992) and the gallery of Faculty of Architecture of the University of Science and Technology (1995), respectively, Setayesh went to Germany for a while (1990-2000) and participated in several group exhibitions there. After returning to Iran, she held her third (2000) and fourth (2002) solo exhibition at Aria Art Gallery.

Setayesh has held 13 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 70 group exhibitions at the national and international level. The works of this artist are kept in prominent domestic and foreign collections.
