Hossein Sheikh Ahya was an Iranian painter and art educator born in 1902 and passed away in 1991. He studied at the "Sanaye Mostazrafe" (School of Fine Arts), founded by Kamal-ol-Molk in 1911, where he trained under the master painter’s academic tradition. He later traveled to Europe for further artistic studies. Upon returning to Iran, he began teaching at the "Kamal-ol-Molk Art School"—the successor to Sanaye Mostazrafe—and served as its director from 1952 to 1980. Hossein Sheikh primarily focused on depictions of everyday people, and his few surviving works reflect an adherence to academic painting techniques.
