Javad Mojabi, a poet, writer, journalist, and painter, was born in 1939 in Qazvin, Iran. He received a bachelor's degree in law and a PhD in economics from the University of Tehran. He worked as a cultural expert at the Ministry of Culture and Arts and later served for eleven years as the cultural editor of "Ettela’at" newspaper. He also briefly held the position of editor-in-chief at "Donya-ye Sokhan" magazine. In 2016, he published a two-volume book titled "Ninety Years of Innovation in Iranian Visual Art."
Mojabi began painting in his early years. His works often explore surreal and introspective themes, presenting a version of reality shaped by imagination and thought. Despite his long engagement with visual art, he has rarely exhibited his work publicly. His first solo exhibition, "70 Years of Painting", focusing mostly on his drawings, was held in 2023 at Azad Art Gallery in Tehran.
