Kiarash Alimi, an Iranian visual artist and writer, was born in 1985 in Tehran. He received his diploma in painting from Tehran’s School of Fine Arts in 2004. His first solo exhibition, “Arcadian Hymns,” was held in 2014 at Dastan’s Basement in Tehran. He currently lives and works in Tehran.
Alimi’s art is marked by the drastic simplification of form, a lively and fluid treatment of color, and a deliberate focus on painting as “a mental activity” and “thinking through doing.” This perspective underlines his continual investigation into painting’s capacity as a vehicle for thought and perceptual exploration.
