Mahta Moeini was born in 1967 in Shiraz. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in painting from Azad University in 1991 and 1995, respectively.
Since the beginning of her career, Moeini has received many awards, the first of which is the first prize of the First Biennial of Tehran in 1991. Also, in 1997, she won the prize of the fourth Iranian women's painting exhibition.
Mahta Moeini has participated in many domestic and international group exhibitions and art fairs and has held numerous solo exhibitions in Iran.
Moeini’s works are figurative. Her Paintings are full of grays. Textures, designs and motifes are of special importance in her later paintings. Still life and slender figures of women with their back to the viewer are the main elements of the artist's work.
The work's of Moeni are minimalistic, and the movement between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces in her art is inspired by Miniature.
