Marjan Ghorbani, born in Tehran in 1990, began her artistic practice with studies in graphic design and later received a BA in Painting from Islamic Azad University, Tehran. Drawing is central to her practice, although she works across a range of media, including painting, installation, photography, and video, according to the requirements of each project.
Ghorbani’s practice explores the relationship between materiality, structure, and memory. In developing her works, she engages with materials such as stone, glass, metal, and sequins. Her practice is informed by research at the intersection of contemporary art, philosophy, sociology, and memory studies.
