Masoumeh Mozaffari was born in 1958 in Tehran. She is known for her portrait paintings of ordinary people. After graduating from Tehran Art Academy, Mozaffari entered the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran University. A few years later, she received her master's degree from the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Tehran Azad University.
In addition to painting, Masoumeh Mozaffari has a teaching experience at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Tehran Azad University and the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Tabriz Azad University, as well as being the president of the Iranian Painters Association. She was also a member of Dana art group.
Mozaffari has held many exhibitions in Iran and abroad; Among her most important foreign exhibitions, we can mention the group exhibition with Dena Art Group, Kokula Museum, Helsinki, Finland and "Calling the Future: Iranian Art after the Revolution", Bruni Gallery, Suez University, London.
Mozaffari uses acrylic, oil paint, and other materials such as pencil and pen in his works. She has different work periods, both in terms of technique and subject matter; But what they all have in common is the presence of humans. Even when we see her still life works, there is a trace of man in them. The collections "Overheating", "On their faces", "Running" and "In the presence of others" are directly centered around humans.
Masoumeh Mozaffari's works contain spaces, objects or people that are realistically represented; There are also formal references to cubism in her works. In Mozaffari's paintings, there are tables on which spoons and forks are falling. Seeing the stage before the fall of an object inspires a sense of dread and concern to the viewer. It can also be said about the figures, the people in the painting are staring at the viewer. In her portraits, she portrays cold, sad or scared faces, whose eyes show concern about the outer side of the painting.
