To date, Moghimnejad has published six books and over one hundred articles on theoretical topics in art and photography in Persian and English. His notable works include translations of "Semiotics of Photography" and "Art in the Digital Age", as well as authored books like "Photography and Theory" and his collection of articles, "In Praise of the Real". He is also the compiler and translator of a book on contemporary American poetry titled "Where the Sunset Delays", and the poet of the collection "The Rain of Jackal", which was shortlisted for the Ahmad Shamloo Poetry Award in 2017.
Moghimnejad’s photography can be described as a dialogue with the history and culture of Iran. Since 2001, using a hyper-realistic and deeply personal photomontage method he calls "Verisimilitudes," he has explored various aspects of Iranian history through multiple conceptual and thought-provoking series. His works often combine natural landscapes, particularly deserts, ruins, and cultural symbols of Iran.
His first solo exhibition was held at Barg Gallery in 2002. Over the years, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions both inside and outside Iran. Several of his works are part of the permanent collection of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
