Morteza Pourhosseini's first exhibition was held in 2008 with a collection called "Fraud" at Iran Artists' Forum. In the same year, he was chosen by Damoonfar Visual Arts Festival. In addition, Pourhosseini won the Erich Hoffer Award in 2016 and was also present at the Moscow Painting Symposium in 2015.
In his works, Morteza Pourhosseini tries to express the past and present of mankind by creating figures and portraits with his distinctive technique. In most of Pourhosseini's works, signs and symbols create a challenge for the audience. In his recent collection called "In the Middle", he paid attention to the religious iconography of Europe. With neutral colors in the background, he tries to create this concept for the characters in his paintings and conveys an unknown end for man. Three works by Morteza Pourhosseini are kept in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of New York and one work of this artist is kept in the Salsali Museum in Dubai.
