Nazanin Pouyandeh, a painter, was born in Tehran. She started her career by making collages with newspaper images. In 1993, he won the silver medal in the Shankar Children's Competition of India, and two years later, she received an honorary diploma from the United Nations Population Foundation. After the murder of his father, Jafar Puyandeh, she immigrated to France at 18 during the serial murders of the seventies and settled in Paris. In 2000, she entered the High School of Fine Arts. And simultaneously was taught sculpture and painting in Pat Andrea's workshop. In 2004, she exhibited her works individually for the first time in the Fine Arts Gallery of Paris. After completing her bachelor's degree, she received a research-oriented master's degree in plastic arts from the University of Paris 1 in 2007. The same year, she won the "Erro" special award from the Antione Marin competition. The first solo exhibition of Pouyandeh's works, after years of being away from the professional atmosphere of Iran, was held in Aaran Gallery in 2013, with the title "Between Dog and Wolf." Pouyandeh's works have been exhibited many times in the art centers of Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Dubai, etc. Some of her works are kept in art centers such as Ramin Salsali Museum in Dubai, Frissiras Museum in Athens, Leila Heller Gallery in New York, and Michael Schultz Gallery in Berlin and are permanently on display. Collage has been one of the most frequent techniques in different periods of this artist's works. Visual ambiguity, mythological elements, and psychological aspects are the characteristics of this artist's paintings. In this way, Nazanin Pouyandeh mixes familiar eastern and western traditions.
The first appearance of Pouyandeh in the auctions was in June 2021 at the Cornette de Saint-Cyr auction house. Her untitled painting sold at the event for $139, a 368 percent increase from the average initial estimate.
