Pantea Mahroo (born 1990, Tehran) is a contemporary Iranian painter, sculptor, and architect. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Azad University and later received a Master’s degree in Environmental Design Engineering from the University of Tehran.
Her interest in the visual arts began in childhood, when painting and sculpture became a medium for imagination and the re-creation of history. This later emerged in her works as cohesive series. In the collection Ancient Iran, for example, Mahroo revisits historical elements by reinterpreting ancient deities, myths, and symbols alongside traditional architecture, creating spaces that are both mysterious and nostalgic.
A distinctive feature of her practice is the use of symbols, ancient scripts, and sacred numbers. Color also holds a central role in her work, particularly traditional Iranian palettes that carry cultural significance.
Mahroo’s works have been exhibited in both domestic and international exhibitions across Iran, the United States, England, Greece, Qatar, Japan, Canada, and France. Her artistic universe extends beyond painting, encompassing sculpture, artistic jewelry, and wearable art.
