Pooneh Oshidari was born in 1984 into a Zoroastrian family. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the University of Tehran in 2006 and completed her Master's degree in Illustration there in 2010. While still a student, Oshidari held her first solo exhibition in 2009 at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran. Her second solo exhibition was also in 2009, at the Seyhoon Gallery in Tehran.
In 2009, Pooneh Oshidari participated in the Homa Gallery's Montakhab-e Nasl-e No and was selected again for this annual event in 2018, where she was among the top artists. That same year, she won first prize at the Versus Festival.
Since starting her professional career, Oshidari has participated in over 90 solo and group exhibitions. She showcased her work at the 6th Tehran Illustration Biennial at the Saba Art Center in 2013. Her works have also been displayed at international art fairs such as the LA Art Show, Art Ankara, Affordable Art Fair, and Contemporary Istanbul.
Pooneh Oshidari's artworks depict uninhabited lands, where plants, mountains, humans, and buildings—or natural and historical elements—hold special significance. Her color palette features mature yet vibrant hues. Oshidari's background in graphic design and illustration is evident in her use of linear elements and flat color application. This approach is also noticeable in the layout of her paintings, which often lack linear perspective and atmospheric depth.
