Reza Baharvand, born in 1976 in Khorramabad, completed his master's degree in painting at the University of Art in 2011. He is an active member of the Iranian Painters Association and has taught at Tehran University of Art, Science, and Culture.
His journey in exhibitions began with a group show at Isfahan Museum of Contemporary Arts in 2003. Since then, he has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions. In 2009, Baharvand held his first solo exhibition, a video installation titled "Dark Room," at Aria Art Gallery in Tehran.
Baharvand's artwork uniquely combines still life with social commentary. His pieces symbolically portray objects as symbols of materialism and false appearances contrasted with ruins, emphasizing the significance of decay over superficial glamour.
