Sasan Abri was born in 1984 in Tehran. He started in photography as a self-taught artist and went on to train professionally with experts.
Abri likes to use unusual cameras like the pinhole camera. Working with Polaroid is also of interest to him, because through it he can change the photos and can create the effect he wants with different chemicals. The city of Tehran is one of Sasan Abri's concerns and is usually considered as the main subject in most of his works. Also, nature is a glorious refuge for him. Abri has held five solo exhibitions and his works have been displayed in numerous group exhibitions inside and outside of Iran.
Abri has an alternative approach in many of his works and by using the hand printing technique, he brings the objectivity of the works closer to his mentality. In his collection of "Rooz Gerd", he also approached Polaroid as a free spirit and left the result to the process and essence of the photo. Maryam Roshanfekr also wrote in her review: "Abri's mental texture in this exhibition is a delicate and fragile opposition between existence and nothingness and decay. He has shaped this narrow border by presenting uncertain and confusing works that are strong in terms of form and even decorative. Works in which the technique is so strong that it makes the audience doubt and associate him with the reality of decline, the reality of doubt and the short moment between being and non-existence.
