Shahpari Behzadi was born in 1973 in Tehran. She began her artistic journey by earning a diploma in graphics from Tehran Azadegan Conservatory and subsequently graduated from Tehran Azad University. Following her formal education, she traveled to Slovakia and Hungary to immerse herself in painting, participating in various art residencies.
In addition to her own artistic pursuits, Behzadi has been deeply involved in art education, particularly teaching painting to children. Her career is marked by numerous solo and group exhibitions, where she has collaborated with prestigious galleries such as Assar, Etemad, Shirin, and e1 art gallery.
From the outset, Behzadi has dedicated herself to abstract art, maintaining a consistent stylistic approach throughout her career. While her early works were based on specific subjects, she soon transitioned into formal abstraction. Her large-scale paintings often feature square and circular forms, emphasizing texture as a primary element. She skillfully integrates specific divisions of form and space, creating unified compositions.
Over time, Behzadi's artistic evolution reveals occasional thematic influences, yet her focus remains on the artistic process itself, resulting in refined and contemplative imagery. Her latest series explores the geometric and abstract forms found in historical buildings and Persian architecture, incorporating compositions, motifs, and intricate elements from these rich cultural sources.
