Shiva Sarlak, an Iranian visual artist born in 1988, received her BFA in Painting from Mir Emad University in Qazvin, Iran. She held her first solo exhibition, "Labyrinth", at Gallery 26 in Tehran in 2016. Since then, her work has been presented in cities such as Mashhad, Shiraz, Toronto, and Danbury, in addition to Tehran.
Alongside her artistic practice, Sarlak has been active in teaching and has collaborated with the Hack Printmaking Group. Drawing on both personal and collective female experiences, she has developed a distinctive approach to printmaking, combining traditional techniques with her own methods. Her works convey a sense of primal energy while remaining meticulously refined, the result of a deliberate process that reimagines reality through geometric forms.
