Provenance: Dreweatts 11 November 2021, Lot 509 (part lot); Private Collection of Mohammed Makiya (1914-2015) Multi-compartment vessels have a long history in ceramics, the variety and sizes and types of compartments suggest a wide range of uses such as food and cosmetics as well as paints for scribes and painters.
