Dark but rich
I imagine the clouds
Miss you as much as I do
And the rain pouring down
Is their tears.
suppose you were sad and lonely
Dejected but in love so deep.
A glass of red wine
“Tranquility is the first word that comes to my mind when I think about my father’s life as an artist. Being an only child, I had the chance to spend a lot of quality time with my father, even though he was engrossed in his projects. I treasured those moments spent with him, knowing how important it was for him to do his job, painstakingly. A meticulous and dedicated artist, he would spend long hours on his art, whether painting or calligraphy.”
Directly from Farnaz Faraji, daughter of the artist
Ebrahim Faraji (1938-2004) graduated from the University of Dramatic Arts with a degree in cinematography. He pursued free courses in order to express his interest and natural talent for painting - his style can be most closely likened to post-impressionistic. He went on to hold his first solo exhibition at the University of Fine Arts in 1965. Faraji participated in several group exhibitions in several galleries in Iran including Takht-e Jamshid, Niazi and Seihoun gallery. After the revolution in 1979, Faraji turned to government work. While he did also work as an expert in the arts and at vocational schools in the Ministry of Culture, he has been largely overlooked as an artist.
