Farnaz Rabieijah, a contemporary sculptor, was born in Tehran. We know her because of the bronze volumes she creates by combining letters and shapes, such as body organs. Rabieijah studied biology and received her master's degree in plant sciences. This artist exhibited her sculptures for the first time in 2012 in a group exhibition titled "Arabic Spring" in Tehran's Etemad Gallery. In the same year, her first solo exhibition, "Iran," was held at Shirin Gallery in Tehran. This year, her works were also featured in the medal exhibition at BAMS Gallery in Glasgow. In 2017, she held her first international exhibition at The Mine gallery in Dubai. In the following years of her professional activity, her works have been displayed in other group exhibitions in Athens, New York, London, Beirut, and Landsberg Lech. Rabieijah has participated in significant sculpture events such as Tehran Sculpture Biennial, Art Fair Vienna, Scope Basel, Scope Miami, Istanbul Contemporary, Abu Dhabi Art Fair, Code Art Fair Copenhagen, etc. Also, some of her works have been sold in Million and Ossiz and Tehran auction houses.
She uses the abilities of Persian calligraphy in her volumes. Persian letters are molded in bronze, concrete, fiberglass, ceramic, etc., and sit next to each other, sometimes, they form a weapon, and sometimes they sit like a tissue in the corner of an organ, like a heart. Sometimes these letters are arranged in a mug, plate, or bowl with an installation approach. In some of her other works, these letters are connected like a chain and form an abstract mass without evoking a specific shape. In describing the sculptures she made with the heart motif, which were exhibited in Shirin Gallery in 2016, she says that by making heart-shaped volumes, she tried to portray the indifference and insensitivity that governs our lives and society today.
