Massoud Arabshahi’s work combines tradition and modernity with futuristic elements. Greatly inspired by
Achaemenid, Assyrian and Babylonian reliefs found in Iran and Iraq, Arabshahi became famous for his own
architectural reliefs. Living between Tehran and California, his work has been shown extensively in his
native Iran, alongside the works of Charles Hossein Zendouroudi at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary
Art as well as in Iran Modern at The Asia Society in New York, and Iranian Contemporary Art at the Barbican
Centre in London
