of typical form with rounded ends, decorated to the lid with three floral bouquets with a bird within lobed ogival cartouches in a dense ground of flowers, inscription cartouches above and below, the sides with dense flowers, the tray plain, the underside with gold spiky flowerheads on a black ground, 23cm. long Provenance: Property from an Important Private Collection Another qalamadan by this artist is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York acc. no 2008.246a, b.
