Yervand Nehapetian was born in 1917 in Jolfa, Isfahan. Yervand's talent was evident from his childhood and he began to learn painting from the age of seven.
Yervand Nehapetian is the most prominent watercolor master in Isfahan watercolor school. As a teenager, he was a student of masters such as Sarkis Khachatourian, Alexander (an Italian artist), and Hossein Mosavarol-Molki.
After some time, he focused on the watercolor technique and has an important contribution to the contemporary watercolor school of Isfahan. His paintings with bright colors represent scenes of city, especially of Isfahan, architecture, nomadic life, still life, miniatures, etc. His style is based on realism and emphasizes Iranian identity.
In addition to working with watercolors, he was also engaged in calligraphy and expertise in antiques. Many of his works are kept in international museums and have appeared in many international auctions. Bonham’s Auction, Van Ham, Tehran Auction, and Iran’s National Auction are just some auction names where Yervand Nehapetian’s works have been offered and sold.
