Kour Pour is a painter whose vast and multifaceted artistic practice explores intricate aspects of how identity is formed. Pour centers his interest on the cultural distinctions of Eastern and Western histories, and how these societal differences have led to define modes of thought throughout the ages. Initially gaining attention in the art world for his paintings depicting adapted motifs of historical rugs and carpets, Pour has since expanded his employed imagery to investigate related ancient and modern imagery. Using a range of painting techniques, such as silkscreen painting or the application of several paint layers via broomstick, Pour tirelessly investigates the effects of visual culture’s influence on society at large.
