No. 18 Shahin (Khedri) St., Sanaee St.
13 September - 24 September 2024
The works in this collection, primarily features portraits, still life and landscapes in both natural and urban settings. Through the use of color contrast and vibrant hues, these works draw the viewer’s attention to the spatial composition and the expressive style of these paintings.
In this body of work, humans are often portrayed in their everyday lives. The still life compositions sometimes adhere to classical definition of the genre with prearranged compositions, while at other times, display a more random placement of objects. Similarly, the landscapes alternate between urban environments and purely natural scenes; in some instances, they are depicted alongside architectural structures.
These artworks reflect the artist’s work over the past five years, during which Akbarlou has captured specific moments from his personal life in an effort to convey a desired color ambiance through the use of oil painting and his chosen techniques. He aims to share with viewer a reenactment of his lived experiences, shaped by his personal perception of existence and his adeptness in articulating them.
