Fereydoun Ave, a collage maker, sculptor, designer, curator, and collector, spent his elementary and high school years in England between 1953 and 1963. Then he moved to the United States to continue his studies and studied applied arts at Arizona State University. Then he studied film aesthetics at New York University. Between 1970 and 1973, he worked as a graphic and set designer for the Iranian-American Association in Tehran. He designed costumes, stages, and posters for several years at the drama workshop, City Theater, and Shiraz Art Festival. At the same time, he managed Zand Gallery (Tehran) and Hayden-Zand Gallery (Washington). Later, he established two galleries, No. 13 and Wang Gallery in Tehran and XVA Gallery in Dubai. In 1975, for the first time in Iran, Ave exhibited a collection of his works at the Iranian-American Association. In 1970, he participated in Arbaz Switzerland. In 1979, he held a solo exhibition at the Cadeau Gallery in Paris. Two years later, his works were shown in a group exhibition at the Georges Pompidou in Paris. His artworks were presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Tehran, Washington, Paris, and London. In 2021, his works were also exhibited by +2 at Artissima Art Fair and Artduby Turin. He has moved between Tehran, New York, Athens, and Paris during his career. Fereydoun Ave's works have been offered and sold in prestigious international auction houses such as Christie's, Bonham's, Millon and Associates, Artcurial, and Tehran Auction.

Ave is a multimedia artist and has worked in various fields, such as filmmaking, stage design, painting, graphic design, photography, sculpture, and collage. In the 1970s, in parallel with creating cultural posters (Shiraz Art Festival-1974) with a minimalistic approach, he worked on the composition of geometric shapes on checkered paper. Later, he made a series of watercolor paintings of flowers, leaves, and tree branches. In the late 1990s, he tried to present a novel concept of the epic stories of the Shahnameh in a series of collages combining photos (wrestlers, flowers, and fruits) and a drip painting style. In recent years, he has exhibited his photos and computer prints.
